Germany offers jobs for Pakistani IT professionals
Germany has introduced new visa and residence permit pathways to attract skilled IT professionals, aiming to address the country’s growing demand for technology talent while making it easier for foreign experts to enter its job market.
Under the new rules, Pakistani IT specialists can apply through several immigration routes, including the Skilled Workers Residence Permit, the EU Blue Card, and a special work visa for experienced professionals. Some categories require applicants to have a job offer from a German employer, along with relevant academic qualifications and professional certifications.
Germany has also expanded access through its Opportunity Card programme, which allows eligible candidates to travel to Germany without a prior job offer to search for employment. The card also permits temporary residence and part-time work while seeking a full-time position.
Experts believe the new measures will create fresh employment opportunities for Pakistani IT graduates and experienced software engineers, while helping Germany overcome its shortage of skilled workers in the technology sector.
