Gen Syed Aamer Raza meets Field Marshal after assuming CNSC charge

General Syed Aamer Raza, Commander of the National Strategic Command, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) after assuming his new role.

Field Marshal Munir congratulated General Raza on taking charge of the newly created command.

Later, General Raza received a guard of honour to mark his appointment. He also laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha to pay tribute to the country’s martyrs.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently appointed General Aamer Raza as the Commander of the National Strategic Command. Before his promotion, he served as the Chief of General Staff of the Pakistan Army.

In a statement, the Prime Minister’s Office said the premier promoted General Raza from lieutenant general to four-star general before appointing him to the post.

General Raza is Pakistan’s first Commander of the National Strategic Command, a newly established four-star position responsible for overseeing the operational integration of the country’s strategic forces.

Earlier, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif promoted Lieutenant General Aamer Raza to the rank of four-star general and appointed him as the Commander of the National Strategic Command (NSC).

In a statement, the PM Office said that the prime minister approved the promotion of the Chief of the General Staff to the rank of full general before assigning him the key strategic command.
