Here’s how to check if your phone supports 5G

After the landmark launch of 5G services in Pakistan, netizens now know that not all smartphones can access 5G networks.

To access 5G, you need a device that supports both 5G technology and the correct network bands. Here’s how to check if your phone supports 5G.

Check your phone name

Start with the easiest check:

• Many Android phones include “5G” in their name
  • Example: Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G
• If it says “4G”, it likely does not support 5G

This method isn’t always reliable, so use additional checks below.

Check phone settings

This is the most direct way to confirm:

1. Open Settings
2. Tap Network & Internet or Connections
3. Select Mobile Network
4. Look for Preferred Network Type / Network Mode

If you see:

• 5G / 4G / 3G
• 5G Auto or 5G Only

Your phone supports 5G

If you only see:

• 4G / LTE or lower

Your phone does NOT support 5G

Check your phone specs online

If you’re unsure:

1. Go to Settings → About Phone
2. Find your model name/number
3. Search it online (e.g., “Samsung Galaxy A32 specs”)

Check trusted sources like:

• Official brand website
• GSMArena

If “5G” is listed under network support, your phone is compatible.

Use IMEI compatibility check

Every phone has a unique IMEI number that can confirm network support.

Find your IMEI:
